Trevor started Varry because the same problems kept showing up, and another write-up never fixed them. Nobody is quite sure who owns the control. The guidance on the shelf is out of date. When someone asks for proof, it is not there. So he builds products instead of another report.

What he writes about

He writes about the ordinary ways this goes wrong. A deadline that treats every bug the same. An authorization package still quoting rules that changed. A policy that names a control and never names the system. Those notes are on LinkedIn. The products are the part you can actually run.

Background

He has spent more than twenty years on risk, privacy, and compliance, and on training people to keep up with the controls. The day-to-day is NIST RMF, continuous monitoring, cloud authorization, zero trust, and incident response. He holds CISSP, CCSP, and CSSLP, a PMP, and a Certified Scrum Master. He has an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Maryland.
